Joseph Aloba, the father of Ilerioluwa Aloba, who is professionally known as Mohbad, has revealed the story of how the late singer, Mohbad, met his wife, Wunmi, while they were both part of Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label.
The passing of Mohbad has stirred controversy for over a week, with the circumstances surrounding his death being a subject of concern. The singer tragically passed away on September 12th, 2023.
Describing Mohbad as a simple and modest individual, Joseph Aloba added that they had known each other from a very young age in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos, before they reconnected at Naira Marley’s label. However, during their initial acquaintance, there was no connection or attachment between them.
It is reported that Wunmi gave birth to Liam, the son of the late Mohbad.
clarified the connection by referencing Mohbad’s song “Komajensun,” specifically pointing out the lyric, “Naira lo gbe omo fun mi, I’m not a womaniser,” as a reference to how Mohbad reconnected with Wunmi at Marlian Records.
Aloba disclosed to the reporter that Mohbad met Wunmi at Marlian Music, but they had known each other from Oke-Iletu, even though Wunmi was a student at that time.
The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the artist’s tragic demise.
The Coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death has scheduled October 13, 2023, as the date for witnesses to testify before it.

Speaking to the journalist after the proceedings, Falana stated, “What we did today was to determine the procedures and timing for seeking justice. The date has been set, and we will be presenting our witnesses.”
